Vatican Council I Topic of Lecture at Creighton University

“Vatican Council I: The Distortions and the Facts ” is the topic of a lecture sponsored by Creighton University’s Center for Catholic Thought.

Retired Archbishop John R. Quinn will present his lecture at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26, in the ballroom of Creighton’s Mike and Josie Harper Center, 602 N. 20th St. The lecture is free to the public.

Fr. Quinn was ordained a priest for the Diocese of San Diego in 1953. He did his philosophical and theological studies at the Gregorian University in Rome. He was Auxiliary Bishop of San Diego, First Archbishop of Oklahoma, Archbishop of San Francisco, and also served as president of the Episcopal Conference of the United States.

After resigning as Archbishop of San Francisco, he was given a Fellowship at Campion Hall, Oxford, England. For more information about the lecture, contact Fran Minear at fminear@creighton.edu or 280-2303.
