Creighton Student Awarded German Scholarship

Erin Cahill, a Creighton junior in Arts and Sciences has been awarded the Deutsche Akademischer Austach Dienst scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to outstanding students interested in study and research in Germany and is funded by the German government.

Cahill plans to study at the Catholic University in Ingolstadt from January through June 2011. Cahill is also doing an internship in the Dramaturgy Department at the Staatsoper (State Opera House) in Hannover, Germany during that time.

Originally from Pine City, Minn., Cahill is an English major, with a minor in German and Music/Musical theater. She has recently focused her research on the study of the English translations of Richard Wagner’s operas.
