Creighton Theatre Production Features Alumni Directors
Creighton University will present “The Good Doctor,” a series of comic vignettes by playwright Neil Simon at the Lied Education Center for the Arts located at 24th and Cass Streets. The production runs Oct. 6-9 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 10 at 2 p.m. on the Main Stage.
The play is an interpretation of the short stories of Russian playwright Anton Chekhov. Although set in Russia, the characters and situations mirror American experiences. Creighton graduates Denise Chapman, BA ’01, who received a master’s in Performance from Roosevelt University in Chicago and Chris Shonka, BA’ 97, who received his master’s in Performance from Temple University in Philadelphia, will be directing various scenes of the play. Joining them is Sonia Keffer, who received her masters in theater from the University of Nebraska Omaha.
