Creighton Pathway: A New Tradition

Creighton University welcomed its new students with a new tradition “The Creighton Pathway,” an academic procession preceding the President’s Academic Convocation on Tuesday, Aug. 23. More than a thousand new students as well as academic and University leaders dressed in regalia made a symbolic walk from St. John’s Church, the spiritual heart of campus, down the campus mall walkway to the D.J. Sokol Arena to attend their formal academic introduction to Creighton. The sea of students dressed in blue were cheered along the way by current students, faculty and staff. “The Creighton Pathway is a significant event for this University,” said Creighton President Timothy R. Lannon, S.J. “The Class of 2015 is the first to make this historic procession through campus as part of the new academic year. From now on, the Pathway will be an important tradition at Creighton.”

Creighton University is a Jesuit, Catholic university bridging health, law, business and the arts and sciences for a more just world.
