The Princeton Review has listed Creighton University as one of the nation’s top 376 colleges and universities in its 2012 edition of the annual college guide published Aug. 2. The University is also recognized as a best college in the Midwest for excellence in academic programs, a new website feature provided by the education services company.
The review features comments from more than 122,000 students and a two-page profile on each institution. Students say Creighton “is a great Jesuit university focused on academics and creating well-rounded students turning out a student as a complete package: academically, socially, culturally, faith-filled and service-oriented.” Respondents said that professors are “exceptional.” “Students at Creighton learn to enjoy the process, rather than just the product,” one respondent noted. The student body is characterized as being “outgoing and friendly.” Says one student, “I’ve never been in a place where so many people will hold the door open for me to walk through, if that gives you any indication of the type of student here.”
Only about 15 percent of the more than 2,500 colleges and universities nationwide plus three colleges outside the United States are profiled in the book.
