Creighton Offers Service to Help with Move to Omaha
Creighton University is partnering with an off-campus listing service called Creighton Real Estate with Honors to help students, faculty and staff find housing and related service providers in the Omaha/Council Bluffs metropolitan area. The service will be launched online on March 10.
The website will include a wide variety of property types, locations, price ranges and dwelling sizes. It will also feature housing options from all across the Omaha and Council Bluffs metro areas, including apartment communities, houses for sale and rent, downtown condos and short-term furnished housing.
"Creighton is excited to offer this new system to help make the search for off-campus housing easy, fun and informative for faculty, staff and students who decide not to live on campus,” said Richard Rossi, PhD., associate vice president for student services and residence life.
Additional state of the art web technology will provide bird's-eye views and 3D mapping tools to give users detailed impressions of each property. The service also lets users inquire about listings and schedule showings in advance through web-based forms.
For first-time buyers and renters, the website includes educational information about off-campus safety and crime prevention along with a real estate education blog. The site also includes links so that buyers can find services around Omaha. Some of these links include local service providers such as cable and internet companies, personal banking, child care centers, local shopping and dining, and renters insurance.
Real Estate with Honors is a private listing service sponsored by Crew Innovations Inc., a company that specializes in developing and managing private off-campus housing listing services for universities across the country.
"Our goal is to help new students and staff be more successful by taking away some of the anxiety and hassle required to find housing in the Omaha area," said David Nelson, president of Crew Innovations, Inc. located in Papillion.
Real estate professionals, property managers, developers and individual owners who choose to promote their listings and contact information on the site must first meet certain qualifications. These qualifications will include an application, due diligence, reference checks, interview and a website training session.
Those who are accepted as participants load and manage their own listings and pay an application and monthly or annual participation fee to help defray the cost of the service. For more information, visit: www.CreightonRealEstateWithHonors.com
