Relay For Life Held at Creighton University

Creighton University will host Relay For Life from 6 6 a.m., March 25-26, in the Kiewit Fitness Center on campus. Opening ceremonies will begin at 7 p.m. and the luminaria ceremony will begin at 9 p.m. Candles will be lit inside bags filled with sand, each one bearing the name of a person touched by cancer, and participants will walk a lap in silence. As of March 22, 64 teams of 858 individuals had signed up to participate.

The event, sponsored by the American Cancer Society, brings communities together to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer and to honor those who have died. During the Relay, teams come together to raise money for the American Cancer Society, and over a period of 24 hours, at least one member from each team is on the track.
