Creighton Enjoys Special Showing of The Conspirator

The Hixson-Lied Auditorium at Creighton University’s Harper Center was packed Sunday for the Nebraska premiere of The Conspirator. Directed by Robert Redford. It tells the true story of Mary Surratt, the lone female charged in the plot to assassinate President Abraham Lincoln.

The movie stars Robin Wright, Kevin Kline, James McAvoy and Tom Wilkinson. It will be released nationally on April 15.

The Conspirator is the first movie produced by The American Film Company, founded by Joe Ricketts, a 1968 Creighton graduate and founder and former CEO/chairman of TD Ameritrade. Ricketts told the Creighton crowd Sunday that his goal is create entertaining and historically accurate movies based on great stories from American history.

A question-and-answer session, facilitated by one of the film’s producers, followed the movie.
