Creighton Native American Association Hosts All-Nations Powwow

The Creighton University All-Nations Powwow, will be held from noon to 10 p.m., Saturday, April 14, at the Kiewit Fitness Center on the Creighton University campus.

The event is free and open to the public.

The Powwow is hosted by the Creighton University Native American Association (NAA), and is one of the largest student coordinated events on Creighton’s campus. More than 900 people are expected to attend from Omaha and across the country.

The NAA strives to enhance communication and interaction between Native American and non-Native American students at Creighton and in the Omaha community by incorporating cultural values into their educational experience.

Powwows are the most visual expression of Native culture and originated with the Plains Indians, but over time has evolved and grown to incorporate the majority of Native peoples within the U.S. For more information contact Ricardo Ariza at
