The Princeton Review has listed Creighton University as one of the nation’s top 377 colleges and universities in its 2013 edition of the annual college guide published Aug. 21. The University also made the top 20 list in two categories relating to quality of life activities. Both of these rankings, based on student responses to survey questions, recognize the popularity of intercollegiate and intramural sports as well as fraternities and sororities on campus.
The review features comments from more than 122,000 students and a two-page profile on each institution. The 80-question survey asked students about their school's academics, administration, campus life, student body and themselves.
Students say Creighton wants to form students who are driven inside the classroom but “want to find deeper meanings in all that they do to enact change in the world.” Respondents said that professors are extraordinarily helpful and “know how to present material in an interesting manner.” “Students at Creighton learn to enjoy the process, rather than just the product,” one respondent noted. Said one student, “At Creighton students come first and it is as simple as that.”
Only about 15 percent of the more than 2,500 colleges and universities nationwide plus three colleges outside the United States are profiled in the book.
