Poetry and Paintings Come Together Through Presentation at the Joslyn Art Museum

Creighton University English professor Susan Aizenberg will give an informal presentation titled “Ekphrastic Poetry: A Reading and Informal Discussion” at 2:00 p.m. on March 18, in the Joslyn Art Museum, Abbott Lecture Hall.

The presentation is part of the CU At Joslyn lecture series.

Aizenberg’s presentation will include a viewing of paintings from the Joslyn art collection and virtual libraries. She will read her own poetry along with the works of others, focusing on poems inspired by paintings and the lives of the painters who made them, including Merritt Chase, Hopper, Matisse, van Gogh, and contemporary painters Michael David and Jim Sajovic.
