Summer Preview Set to Start

Creighton University Summer Preview 2012 kicks off July 9th with the first of four two-day sessions. Summer Preview is part of Creighton’s new student orientation program that gives incoming students, and their families, information and resources to prepare them for the transition to the Creighton Community.

During the 2-day session, students will experience Creighton as an everyday student by going to class, talking with friends on the mall, eating in the dining halls, and getting advice from recent graduates. Students will also be able to sleep in the residence halls on campus, and get a chance to tour their future living space to plan their decorations.

Summer Preview is led by current Creighton students, Summer Preview Guides, who answer questions about what college life at Creighton is really like. The program will give incoming students a chance to meet with their academic advisor, tour the campus, eat ice cream, and get to know their peers. Students and their families will be able to hear from representatives in different areas of campus life including Student Activities, Financial Aid, Food Services, Public Safety, and Residence Life.

Katelyn Whitty, director of student activities at Creighton said, “Summer Preview is a program designed to provide new students and families with the insight and tools necessary to be successful, comfortable and excited about a future with the University. Every new student that experiences Summer Preview gets a glimpse into the spirit of Creighton.”
