Creighton University, in partnership with Cox Communications, Inc., has established eight annual, four-year scholarships for qualified diverse and economically disadvantaged students, who live in the Cox Greater Omaha service area. First-generation college students are also eligible to apply. The Cox Communications Scholarships begin in the fall of 2012 for undergraduate students enrolled in the University’s College of Business. Students who live in Omaha, Bellevue, Gretna, Bennington, Elkhorn and Valley in Nebraska as well as Council Bluffs and Crescent in Iowa are eligible.
“This scholarship is another example of the support and partnership Creighton University has with Cox on various levels, from our Cox Leadership Conversations, to the Executive Business Symposium, support to information technology projects and athletics,” said Anthony R. Hendrickson, Ph. D., dean of the College of Business.
“Cox is pleased to support scholarships for diverse students in need,” said Gail Graeve, director of public affairs, “We value our partnership with Creighton University and appreciate the college experience they provide. Without question, Creighton graduates enter the workforce well prepared for their chosen profession and have a true commitment to serving their local community,” she added.
