Creighton German Study Abroad Program Receives Grant

Creighton University German language professors Sybille Bartels Ph.D., and Olaf Bohlke Ph.D., received a Group Study Grant from The German Academic Exchange Service for their German 525 class “The New Berlin.” The grant, of almost $10,000, will support the 13 students and 2 instructors as the group travels through Germany from May 12 to June 2, 2012.

The Creighton students taking the course will explore the cultural heritage of Berlin, Dresden, Leipzig, and the Baltic Sea Coast along with many other sites in Germany. While studying the German language, they will also visit academic and health-care institutions and meet with residents of Germany. The group will also visit Creighton’s Fulbright Scholar Anya Burkart who is studying in Leipzig.
