JayWalk 10-Year Anniversary

The Creighton University 10th annual JayWalk will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, starting at Deglman Circle at 24th and California Streets. The 5k run/walk is a campus tradition that brings together the Creighton and Omaha communities to benefit the Jesuit Academy of Omaha. The JayWalk is sponsored by the Creighton Studentís Union (CSU) in collaboration with Omahaís three Jesuit schools.

Since its creation, the JayWalk has donated over $66,000 to student scholarship, facilities and a new gymnasium floor for one school.

The Jesuit Academy provides young men of all faiths a quality education and encourages them to claim ownership of their lives and develop into responsible leaders. The school is guided by Catholic principles and the basics of a Jesuit education: values, academic excellence, self-discipline, religious diversity and living their lives as men-for-others. Proceeds from the Jaywalk have allowed the school to expand its educational horizons.

Onsite registration and check-in will begin at 8 a.m. on Sept. 22 in Deglman Circle. The race begins at 9 a.m. at Deglman Circle and ends outside the Skutt Student Center. The JayWalk will be followed by a pancake feed until noon in the Skutt Student Center Ballroom. Parking will be available near the starting line. Early bird registration is $15 for students and $20 for non-students.
