Creighton University’s Native American Student Association (NAA) hosts the Ninth Annual Creighton All Nations Pow Wow on Saturday, April 6, from 1 to 10 p.m. in the Kiewit Fitness Center. Doors open at noon. The Pow Wow is free an open to the public.
This year’s Pow Wow is being held in honor of Saint Kateri Tekakwith, who was canonized on Oct, 21, 2012, by Pope Benedict XVI. She is the first Native American to be declared a Saint. She is the patroness of the environment and ecology as is St. Francis of Assisi and her feastday is July 14.
The All Nations Pow Wow is both a celebration and a medium by which to share native culture and art with the University’s students, faculty, staff and the metropolitan community at large.
