Creighton Freshman to Study Opera in Italy

Creighton University Arts and Sciences freshman Ryan Malone, from Wichita, Kan., has auditioned and been accepted for participation this summer in Canta in Italia 2013.  This is the first time a Creighton student has received this honor.

The opera program will take Malone to Lucca, Italy for four weeks of intensive Italian, coaching sessions, voice lessons with Pina Mozzani, Ph.D., and master classes with Claudia Catania, former performer at the Metropolitan Opera.

Malone most recently played the role of Dick in Creighton's production of "Dames at Sea." He is studying voice at the University.

Creighton University is a Jesuit, Catholic university bridging health, law, business and the arts and sciences for a more just world.
