Creighton Students Headed to Toronto after CFA Regional Challenge Victory

Three Creighton graduate students won the Iowa/Nebraska Regional CFA Research Challenge held Feb. 8, at Creighton’s Mike and Josie Harper Center for Student Learning.

The team members, Jacob Bleicher, Chad Juranek, and Casey Kerr, beat seven other competing schools: University of South Dakota, University of Northern Iowa, University of Iowa, Iowa State University, Loras College, Bellevue University and University of Nebraska Omaha.

The competition consisted of each team analyzing a company, writing a sell-side research report with an appropriate buy/sell recommendation, and then making a formal presentation of their report to a group of judges. Creighton Assistant Professor of Finance Lee Dunham served as faculty advisor.

The team now advances to the Americas Regional Final held in Toronto, March 20-21. They will compete against other regional winners from North America and South America to be the Americas regional representative at the Global Finals to be held in London in April.
