Bridget M. Keegan, Ph.D., professor of English and director of scholarships and fellowships and the world literature program has been named interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences effective Tuesday, Feb. 12, announced J. Chris Bradberry, Pharm.D., interim vice president for Academic Affairs.
Keegan has held numerous leadership positions within the College including associate dean from 2007-2009, chair of the English department from 2001-2005 and acting chair for the Department of Modern Languages from 2009-2010. She recently collaborated with University College to help design and implement the new online adult degree completion program, the Bachelors of Integrated Leadership Studies.
An outstanding student mentor, faculty collaborator, prolific author and presenter, Keegan helped lead the team responsible for the establishment of the Phi Beta Kappa national academic honor society on campus. She received the University’s 2009 Distinguished Faculty Service Award and the Mary Lucretia and Sarah Emily Creighton Award in 2011
