Creighton University’s Werner Institute for Negotiation and Dispute Resolution presents a screening of the film “Pray the Devil Back to Hell” at Film Streams theater on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 7 p.m. A panel discussion will follow.
The film, directed by Gini Reticker, was released in 2008. It chronicles the story of Liberian women who came together to stage a silent protest outside of the Presidential Palace. Their demand to end the country’s civil war was a critical element in bringing about an agreement during stalled peace talks in Liberia.
The panel discussion will be led by three Creighton University professors; Jackie Font-Guzmán, Ph.D., director and associate professor of the Werner Institute, Palma Strand, LL.M., associate professor of law in the Creighton law school and Jay Carney, Ph.D., assistant professor of Theology at Creighton University.
Filmstreams is located at 1340 Mike Fahey St. in downtown Omaha. More information about this event can be found at http://filmstreams.org/filmstreams_calendar.aspx?ID=1066 or https://www.facebook.com/events/394436533980706/
