Creighton Set to Host 6th Annual Homeless Connect

More than 600 homeless living on the streets or in homeless shelters in the greater Omaha area are expected to receive assistance finding services, jobs and housing during Omaha’s sixth annual Project Homeless Connect, March 22 at the Kiewit Fitness Center on Creighton University's campus.

The one-day event, supported by more than a thousand volunteers, provides “one-stop shopping” to connect the homeless with important services, housing and healthcare. Participants, escorted by volunteers, navigated multiple outreach programs, including health care services (medical, dental and eye care) and booths with local service agencies covering employment, housing, education, legal resources and food stamps.

Nonprofit agencies, local businesses, volunteer groups, health care providers, human resources professionals, and other service providers offer immediate assistance, including referrals for other services.

Creighton University is a Jesuit, Catholic university bridging health, law, business and the arts and sciences for a more just world.
