The Creighton University Department of Fine and Performing Arts will present the play “Tartuffe” in the Mainstage Theatre of the Lied Education Center of the Arts. Performances are 7:30 p.m. April 11 – 13 and 18- 20, and a matinee performance at 2 p.m. on April 21.

“Tartuffe,” also known as “The Imposter,” is Moliere’s classic 17th century play about religious hypocrisy. This production was translated into English by Richard Wilbur. The play centers around Orgon, a wealthy French merchant duped by the false piety of the penniless Tartuffe and the commotion that ensues.

The play is directed by Alan Klem, a professor at Creighton University, with assistance from theatre students Ephriam Harnsberger and Emma Rasmussen.
