The Creighton University Department of Fine and Performing Arts and the Creighton Dance Company will present itís bi-annual production of The Nutcracker at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 20-22 and at 2 p.m. Nov. 23, on the Mainstage of the Lied Education Center for the Arts located at 24th and Cass streets
Creighton Dance Companyís production of the Nutcracker recounts the classic tale of a young girlís journey. The ballet tells the story of Clara, who is given a Nutcracker doll by her uncle for Christmas. She falls asleep and dreams that she saves the Nutcracker doll from the Rat King during a fierce battle. The Nutcracker then comes to life as a handsome prince and whisks her away to the Land of the Snow and finally to the Kingdom of the Sweets where she is the guest of honor.
The cast features dancers from the Creighton Dance Department and younger dancers from the metro community.
