Creighton GreenJays Hold Second Climate Walk

GreenJays, a student environmental group at Creighton University, is collaborating with the Center for Service and Justice (CCSJ) to host the second annual We Matter Walk: Our Climate, Our Future, at 4:15 p.m., April 25 starting on the Kiewit Fitness Center Lawn and ending at 24th and Dodge St.

This event is free and open to the public. There will be live music and food prior to the walk at 3:00 p.m. on the lawn.

The purpose of the climate walk is to raise awareness of environmental issues around campus, particularly climate change; its an opportunity for students and faculty members to show their concern about climate change.

By walking, participants hope to send a message to the community that climate change is an important issue, which will affect the lives of future generations. The walk is intended to foster hope that the challenge presented by climate change can be met.

GreenJays is a student group focused on environmental issues and sustainability at Creighton, in the Omaha community and throughout the world.

The walk is sponsored by the Creighton Students Union.

Creighton University is a Jesuit, Catholic university bridging health, law, business and the arts and sciences for a more just world.
