Creighton's Graduation Rate Tops in State

eCollegeFinder has announced its online list of accredited colleges and universities with the highest graduation rates by state. Creighton University is tops in Nebraska at 76 percent.

"According to the National Center for Education Statistics, Creighton's graduate rate is very high for the entire country. The national average graduation rate for a four-year institution over six years was 59 percent in the latest statistics, with the average for private institutions in the same period 65 percent," said Sarah Richardson, Creighton's director of admissions and scholarships.

The website reviewed schools with four-year degrees and on-campus housing and used the National Center for Education Statistics' Database to confirm the Overall Graduation Rate metric. It tracks the progress of students who began their studies as first-time, full-time degree- or certificate-seeking students, to see if they completed a degree or other award such as a certificate within 150 percent of "normal time" for completing the program in which they are enrolled.

"With personalized attention and programs at Creighton such as EDGE that are designed to provide a holistic approach to academic advising and counseling, students find the support they need to be successful," Richardson added.

Founded in 2004, eCollegeFinder represents more than 120 accredited online colleges and universities and is dedicated to inspiring and informing college students with comprehensive online tools and information.

Creighton University is a Jesuit, Catholic university bridging health, law, business and the arts and sciences for a more just world.
