Creighton Students Host “Cold Toes” To Raise Dollars for Omaha’s Siena/Francis House

Creighton University?s Swanson Hall Residence Hall Council will hold its third Annual Cold Toes, Warm Hearts on Feb. 5, 2014. To show their support and solidarity to the homeless, Creighton students, faculty and staff are pledging to wear flip flops that day. The cost is $5 to participate and all proceeds will go to the Siena/Francis House, the region?s largest homeless shelter.

?Many people in Creighton's surrounding community are without homes, heat or warm clothing this winter and we thought this is a symbolic and unique way to show our support, ?said Kayla Haverkamp, Creighton student and event coordinator.

Participants will receive a button for their donation and will have access to the event?s hospitality room which is located Swanson Hall south conference room on Creighton?s campus during the day. Open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., donors will have warm soup, Panera Bread bagels and other snacks ? along with a place to reflect, learn about the work of the Siena/Francis House and to warm up those cold toes!
