U. S. News Ranking Recognizes Creighton University Online Programs

Several Creighton University online programs are being honored by the annual U.S. News 2014 Best Online Programs rankings announced today. The third-annual listing evaluated more than 1,000 distance education programs for bachelor’s and graduate degrees in business, education, nursing, engineering and computer technology.

Creighton online programs recognized include:

  • Bachelor’s Program: #201
  • Graduate Business Program: #70
  • Graduate Education Program: #87

The University submitted a completed questionnaire during the summer of 2013 and only degree-granting programs offering courses entirely online were considered. The publication used reputation, student engagement, faculty credentials and training, student services, technology and other factors to determine the lists. The rankings also included peer review data based on schools' evaluations of each other and were scored on a 100-point scale, with institutions receiving the most points having the highest rankings.

“Although these types of rankings are just one tool in assessing a university’s value, it is testament to the quality and caliber of Creighton students, faculty and the programs we offer when we receive this recognition,” said Edward O’Connor, Ph.D., Creighton University Provost. “More than 47 percent of Creighton’s current graduate students are now enrolled in online programs and benefit from an interprofessional approach leveraging resources across nine colleges and schools,” he added.

Creighton University is a Jesuit, Catholic university bridging health, law, business and the arts and sciences for a more just world.
