Creighton Class of 2020 a talented, diverse, service-oriented group

The newest flock of Bluejays tally 1,030 students, the fourth-largest class in the 138-year history of the University. It’s the third consecutive year Creighton’s enrollment has topped the 1,000 mark.Creighton University welcomes the Class of 2020 to campus this week as students begin the move-in process Friday, Aug. 19.

The newest flock of Bluejays tally 1,030 students, the fourth-largest class in the 138-year history of the University. It’s the third consecutive year Creighton’s enrollment has topped the 1,000 mark.

The incoming freshmen boast an impressive lot of academic and community engagement credentials:

• 35 percent were ranked in the top 10 percent of their high school class

• 54 percent had a high school grade-point average of 3.8 or higher

• 25 percent had an ACT score of 30 or higher or comparable SAT score

• More than half plan to attend professional school All this combines to rank Creighton academically among the Top 10 Catholic universities nationwide.

The Class of 2020 is also a diverse body with 14 percent of students counting themselves as first-generation college attendees in their families. Twenty-six percent are students of color and 56 percent of the class is female. Eighty-two percent of the class has participated in volunteer service of some kind.
