Best Buddies International LogoThe Creighton University chapter of Best Buddies was recognized as an Outstanding Chapter of the Year by Best Buddies International, an organization working to enhance the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Creighton chapter was honored during the opening ceremonies of the 27th annual Best Buddies Leadership Conference held in Bloomington, Indiana, July 22.

Award winners are chosen based on quality of one-to-one friendships, group outings, chapter involvement, community awareness, and chapter communication.

“The commitment shown by the Creighton University participants as strong student leaders, along with their faculty support and community connections are what pave the way toward total inclusion for individuals with intellectual disabilities,” said David M. Quilleon, a senior vice president for Best Buddies International. “The members of Creighton University’s Best Buddies chapter have created a legacy that will not end after a semester or school year. For the individuals experiencing a Best Buddies friendship, these gifts will last a lifetime.”

Creighton University is a Jesuit, Catholic university bridging health, law, business and the arts and sciences for a more just world.
