Latest volume of James’ letters earns MLA citation

Photo by Jared Tennant Photography  Creighton English professor Greg Zacharias accepts the Approved Edition citation for the eighth volume in the series The Complete Letters of Henry James. Presenting the award is Rosemary G. Feal, executive director of the MLA.The latest volume of Creighton University’s celebrated project of literary scholarship, The Complete Letters of Henry James, earned the Modern Language Association’s Approved Edition seal in June 2014, and the approval was recognized at the MLA Convention in January 2016.

Volume one of The Complete Letters of Henry James, 1878-1880 was published in 2014 and is the eighth volume in the series. Creighton University English professor Greg Zacharias, Ph.D., directs the project from Creighton’s Center for Henry James Studies and is co-general editor of the series. Creighton alumna Katie Sommer (BA’01, MA’03) is the associate editor for the edition and this book was also published with the help of Roz Parr (MA’15) and College of Arts and Sciences senior Caitlyn Ewers.

Each of the previous seven volumes of the edition also has received the MLA Approved Edition recognition, as has the ninth volume, which was published in 2015 and will be recognized at the 2017 MLA Convention.

The 10th volume in the series will be published in October.
