Creighton Occupational Therapy student receives prestigious national scholarship

American Occupational Therapy FoundationTeresa Eklund, a second-year Doctor of Occupational Therapy student at Creighton University, has been awarded the prestigious, nationally competitive North Coast Medical Scholarship from the American Occupational Therapy Foundation (AOTF). Eklund, an Albuquerque, New Mexico native, was one of two students to receive the $5,000 scholarship.

Originating in 1965 at the organization’s founding, the AOTF Scholarship Program offers more than 50 financial aid opportunities ranging from $150 to $5,000. The program aims to help students enrolled in accredited academic Occupational Therapy programs.

Creighton’s School of Pharmacy and Health Professions was the first in the nation to offer an entry-level Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree program. U.S. News & World report ranks Creighton’s Occupational Therapy Program No. 25 in the nation.
