School of Law alumni named to leadership positions in NSBA

The 2016 Nebraska State Bar Association annual conference in La Vista last month saw the election of several Creighton University School of Law alumni to leadership positions within the association.

Senior U.S. District Court Judge the Hon. Joseph Bataillon, BA’71, JD’74, takes the gavel of the NSBA presidency for the year, October 2016 to October 2017. J. Scott Paul, JD’81, was named president-elect designate and will serve as NSBA president from October 2018 to October 2019.

Four more Creighton School of Law alums were also appointed to positions in the NSBA House of Delegates or Executive Council.

Melany O’Brien, JD’93, takes over as House of Delegates chair. Julie Bear, BSBA’87, JD’90, and Jon Schroeder, JD’84, have both been named to the Executive Council. The Hon. Robert F. Rossiter Jr., JD’81, who succeeded Bataillon on Nebraska’s U.S. District Court bench, was appointed to complete the term of a District 4 Executive Council representative.
