Creighton College of Nursing professor emerita named AAN Fellow

Linda Lazure, PhD, left, a retired Creighton professor of nursing, was named to the 2016 class of the American Academy of Nursing fellows on Oct. 22 in Washington , D.C. Lazure was joined by College of Nursing Dean Catherine Todero, PhD.The American Academy of Nursing (AAN) named College of Nursing associate professor emerita Linda Lazure, PhD, RN, FAAN, to its 2016 class of American Academy of Nursing fellows.

AAN fellows are recognized for their contributions to nursing and health care. Lazure was inducted with 164 leaders worldwide in the 2016 class of fellows during the academy’s annual conference Oct. 22 in Washington, D.C.

The Academy is comprised of more than 2,400 nurse leaders in education, management, practice, policy and research. Academy fellows include hospital and government administrators, college deans and renowned scientific researchers.

Lazure, who retired from Creighton in 2015 after a 39-year career in the College of Nursing, remains active in professional organizations including AAN, Nebraska Nurses Association, Nebraska Action Coalition, and the Midwest Nursing Research Society.
