Students, faculty to present at All-University Undergraduate Research Fair

CURAS FairThe Creighton University All-University Undergraduate Research and Scholarship Fair will be held Oct. 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Skutt Student Center Ballroom.

Co-sponsored by the Center for Undergraduate Research and Scholarship (CURAS) and the College of Arts and Sciences Student Senate, the research fair highlights research from all Creighton schools and colleges. Student and faculty research will be on display through posters and one-on-one sessions at tables.

“Our annual research fair provides a chance for undergraduates from across campus to discover the research opportunities offered at Creighton,” said Julie Soukup, PhD, professor of chemistry and director of CURAS. “This event allows the Creighton community to come together and celebrate the wonderful research at the University.”

Student presenters at this year’s fair include the 2016 College of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Summer Undergraduate Research Scholars, the Clare Boothe Luce Women in Science summer undergraduate scholars, and the 2016 CURAS Jesuit Mission Summer Undergraduate Research Awardees.

For three years in a row, U.S. News & World Report has recognized Creighton as a top school for undergraduate research. Thirty-three percent of Creighton students participate in research before graduating. In the College of Arts and Sciences, nearly 50 percent of undergrads take part in research during their college careers.

Creighton University is a Jesuit, Catholic university bridging health, law, business and the arts and sciences for a more just world.
