In latest Princeton Review rankings, Creighton students recognized among those most engaged in community service

The Princeton Review has again named Creighton University as one of the nation’s Best 382 Colleges in its 2018 edition hitting bookstores Aug. 1.

The college guide’s flagship publication profiles the 382 top institutions of higher learning out of the nation’s more than 2,500 universities and colleges.

Colleges are not ranked in any order, but breakout lists provide short rankings in noteworthy areas. Creighton students earned special recognition for their commitment to community service, ranking 12th in that category, while the University ranks 16th for most religious students.

The Review cites Creighton as one of the nation’s leaders in undergraduate education, saying the University wants to form students who are driven by work in the classroom, but seek “deeper meanings in all that they do to enact change in the world.”

“Once again, we’re pleased to earn this recognition from The Princeton Review and feel the magazine’s assessment of our students is both an honor and a benchmark,” said Mary Chase, vice provost for enrollment management. “Our students are consistently examining the complex issues of the world and seeking means to understand them and be of service. For many years, Creighton has given students the opportunity to take classroom knowledge and find routes to global engagement. We take great pride in preparing the imaginative, broadly trained, ethical, compassionate, faith-filled, globally minded solution-seekers of tomorrow.”
