Creighton to celebrate legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. with week of events

MLK Week 2017Join Creighton University in its annual weeklong celebration of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. from Jan. 16-19. All events below are free and open to the public.

Recognition and Awards Celebration
Monday, Jan. 16 | 5 p.m.
Mike and Josie Harper Center | Hixson-Lied Auditorium

This recognition ceremony honors individuals and organizations that have exhibited distinguished civic and community ideals espoused by Creighton University’s mission statement. Students from local schools will be honored for their participation in contests sponsored by Creighton’s Martin Luther King Jr. Committee.

Unity Prayer Luncheon
Wednesday, Jan. 18 | 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Mike and Josie Harper Center | Ahmanson Ballroom

This luncheon, featuring keynote speaker, the Rev. Martin Williams of Ambassadors Worship Center in Omaha, provides an opportunity to unite the community in the spirit of inclusion and fellowship in honor of the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. Please visit Creighton.edu/about/mlk to register.
