RaD Lab toy drive seeks to give kids a happy holiday

Making spirits bright, the Creighton University RaD Lab is hosting its third annual toy drive through the final weeks of the semester.

This year’s drive comes with a slight twist from the drive in years past. Instead of focusing solely on stuffed toys, the RaD Lab is accepting new, unwrapped toys for distribution.

“We’ve had such success with the drive in the past that we wanted to expand it for our community partners,” said Jordan Boetcher, an innovation analyst with the RaD Lab, who heads up the drive.

This year, the RaD Lab will donate toys to three local organizations: Lutheran Family Services, the Heartland Hope Mission and Children’s Hospital and Medical Center.

Last year’s drive netted 200 stuffed toys. Boetcher said the hope is to surpass 200 donations this year.

Boxes for donations can be found in the stairwell below the Reinert-Alumni Memorial Library, the circulation desk at the Health Sciences Laboratory and in the entryway of the Old Gym.
