What's a Radlab?

Creighton's Research and Development Lab (or Radlab, for short) is an open, free environment that students and staff can use to work on projects, study, and learn about technology. The Radlab offers users services varying from high-performance computing to virtual and augmented reality. The Radlab is also the center of the Division of Information Technology and Library Services internship program.

Where is the Radlab?

The Radlab is located in the lower level of the Reinert Alumni Memorial Library, next to the Union Pacific Room.

When is the Radlab open?

The lab is open for various drop in sessions throughout the week. Please check our event calendar.

Is the Radlab open for everyone?

Yes. The Radlab is open for all Creighton University students, faculty, and staff who would like to come to a drop in session or schedule time with their class.

How do I book the Radlab?

The Radlab is available to use for small gatherings or classes, however, it should be noted that the lab is a very busy and active environment. Interns or other students will likely by occupying the space as well.  If you would like to book time, please contact the service desk at ext. 1111 on campus and ask to speak to a member of the Radlab team or email radlab@creighton.edu

What equipment is available in the Radlab?

The Radlab offers a wide variety of services and equipment, such as Oculus Rift virtual reality experiences, high-performance iMacs and PCs, multiple large displays, and fully stocked workbenches. Certain pieces of equipment require special training and must be reserved in advance before use.

Can I rent equipment from the Radlab?

No. Equipment in the lab is not available for check out. The Radlab has a partnership with the Reinert Alumni Library, which does check out many excellent resources. Contact the front desk at the Reinert Alumni Library to checkout cameras, portable green screens, raspberry pi kits and other technological equipment.

Is 3D Printing available in the Radlab?

No. 3D printing is a service offered by our partners in the Reinert Alumni Memorial Library. 3D printers are available in the library for use for a nominal fee. Contact the library front desk to learn more!

Are internships available?

Yes. Generally, internships are available year-round. All students are welcome to apply; no prior information technology experience is required. A desire to learn and work in a fast-paced, technical role is encouraged! Please see our Internship Program page for more details.
