The Reinert-Alumni Library offers a variety of furnishings and accommodations for individual and group study, as well as centralized computing and printing. Experienced library staff members are available to provide research assistance and technical support.
Computing and Equipment

Computers and Laptops
The Library has 27 PCs and 13 iMacs for student use, plus 6 laptops available for 4-hour checkout from the Circulation Desk. All library computers offer Internet access and have Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Access. Students can log in with their Creighton netID.
Fax Machine
The Library fax machine, located in the Administrative Office, is available for public use during regular business hours. To either send or receive a fax, the cost is $1 for the first page plus 50 cents for each additional page. The fax number is 402-280-2435.
Media Equipment in the Library
DVD, video, and CD players are available on the main level at the north end of the floor, and headphones can be checked out from the Circulation Desk. Audiocassette players and a mobile VHS/DVD player are also available upon request. All audiovisual media available from the Library is listed in the Library Catalog (CLIC).
Microform Copiers
Microfiche and microfilm copiers are located on the upper level. Copy charges are 8 cents per frame with JayBuck$ or 10 cents per frame with cash, payable at the Circulation Desk. A special station is also available to digitize microform. Assistance is available from the Serials Specialist in Technical Services.
Multimedia Creation Station
The Library offers an iMac computer with flatbed scanner on the main level for student use, equipped with Adobe Creative Suite and Final Cut Pro for graphics, video, and audio editing. There is also one PC with a scanner and Adobe Creative Suite available.
Photocopier
A copy machine is located on the main level behind the Circulation Desk. Copy charges are 8 cents per page with JayBuck$ or 10 cents per page with cash.
Printing
The library computers are networked to laser printers behind the Circulation Desk. Use your netID to identify your print job on the printer station monitor. The cost is 8 cents per page with JayBuck$ or 10 cents per page with cash. Color prints are 25 cents per page.
Scanning Station
The Simple Scan station on the main level is available at no charge to capture books, photos, and documents in JPEG, TIFF, PDF, Word or HTML formats. The flatbed scanner has a book edge to protect publications from damage, and a separate document feeder scans both sides of your document at lightening speed. You may email the scanned file, send it to Google Docs or save it to a flash drive.
Typewriter
A typewriter is available from the Library. Please inquire at the Circulation Desk.
Wireless Network
Wireless Internet access is available throughout the building. Students and visitors who need help configuring their personal laptops for Internet connectivity may contact the Library's PC Network Technician in Access Services for assistance, or the Division of Information Technology (DoIT).
Rooms and Rentals
Disability Accommodations
The Library provides barrier-free access and reasonable accommodation for all those with physical or developmental disabilities. Restrooms in the adjacent Commons are wheelchair-accessible.
Library Classroom
The "smart" classroom on the upper level is available for small groups to use for meetings or collaborative projects during Reference hours. Reservations are accepted no more than 24 hours in advance and catering is not allowed. For questions regarding availability, please contact a member of the Reference team.
Lockers
A limited number of lockers are available in the Library and in the Commons. The cost is $10 to rent from August through May and $5 for the summer and includes the padlock. Please register and pay at the Circulation Desk.
Rare Book Room
The Rare Book Room is available to faculty as a meeting space under certain conditions. For questions regarding availability, please contact the Administrative Assistant to the Director.
Study Rooms
Eleven rooms are available on the main level for for "listening, viewing and studying" (LVS). The rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis and seat four people, with one large room that will seat eight people. A whiteboard is standard in every room, and dry erase markers are available from the Circulation Desk. A number of rooms are also equipped with flat panel TV monitors for laptop projection. Cables and a variety of adaptors are available from the circulation desk.
Union Pacific Room
The Union Pacific Room is available for some faculty, staff, and student functions. For reservations, please contact the Administrative Assistant to the Director.
