In achieving full AAHRPP accreditation, Creighton University has demonstrated its commitment to rigorous standards that help protect research participants while ensuring that society continues to reap the benefits of research. See the press release for more details.

The Clinical Research Office (CRO) at Creighton University Medical Center has been established by the School of Medicine under the direction of David Cloutier, Director of the CRO. The Clinical Research Office is a multidisciplinary service organization that will support School of Medicine faculty with sponsored clinical trials and investigator-initiated clinical research projects. The CRO will assist clinical research staff through the contracting and budgeting phases of study start-up, navigate the University and sponsor regulatory approval processes, and provide study coordinator services to conduct patient visits. Outpatient clinic space and laboratory services are available in CUMC, Room 5726, to faculty and clinical research staff conducting research projects involving human subjects.

The Clinical Research Office will also serve as a single point of contact to match faculty investigators with clinical trials sponsors, thereby expanding the network of sponsors and Creighton clinical researchers, and providing opportunities to new faculty members.

The Clinical Research Office is staffed by a team experienced in sponsored clinical trials. Amy Keyes, RT, CCRP, Clinical Research Coordinator, lends her expertise to both established and new investigators for the conduct of research study visits and data coordination. The Regulatory Specialist can successfully navigate the University, Federal, and sponsor regulatory approval processes. Dr. Stephen Lanspa, Senior Associate Dean of the School of Medicine, serves as medical director of the Clinical Research Office, and Kathy Taggart, Associate Vice President for Research and Compliance, serves in an administrative oversight function.
