Flow Cytometry Core Facility

About Our Facility

Luminex 200

The Luminex 200 was acquired by Drs. Hansen and Drescher in 2006.  In 2008 the Luminex was moved into the flow cytometry core facility to make it more accessable for more users.

The Luminex 200 uses multiplex bead technology to quantitate analytes in solution.  Analyltes can be almost anything, from protein expression profiling of cytokines & growth factors, cell signaling molecules, hormones or transcription factors to gene expression, genotyping and genitic diagnoses.

To date the bulk of the work done on our Luminex has been looking at cytokines, however a number fo applications are listed below for which the Luminex is a perfect tool.
