FREE athletic tickets for CU staff!!! The first event is men's soccer on October 1st. First come, first serve, with 100 tickets available at two entries per ticket. SAC members will be at the event one hour prior to start handing out tickets. Go Jays!!

September SAC Meeting:
We had three visitors at our September meeting:
- Jeff Branstetter talked to us about changes in insurance (an e-mail has since been sent via the cu_benefits e-mail list - make sure you read the e-mail - lots of great information!! and be sure to go to one of the health benefits). Theresa also asked Jeff the burning question - when will staff get to use the fitness centers free of charge? Jeff responded by saying a proposal will be presented to the Cabinet sometime soon which addresses this question. More info on that as it becomes available.
- Dawn Obermiller with the Wellness Program spoke to us about wellness initiatives currently underway at Creighton, as well as goals for the upcoming years. The current goal is just to get faculty, staff and students more active.
- Tom Purcell was the last visitor and he spoke about the University Strategic Plan. More info on that soon.
August minutes have been posted, as they were approved at the September meeting.
Big News!!! Free tickets for staff to athletic events!
- Men's Soccer: Wednesday, 10/01/2008 at 7:00 p.m. against Cal State Northridge. SAC will be handing out tickets one hour prior to the game and one-half hour into the game.
- Women's Soccer: Saturday, 10/25/2008 at 1:00 p.m. against Evansville
- Volleyball: Saturday, 11/08/2008 at 7:00 p.m. against Illinois State at the Civic Auditorium
About SAC
MISSION
The Creighton University Staff Advisory Council serves as an advocate for University staff members (classification E-M staff positions). The Council is committed to fairness, justice and respect in a quality work environment in accordance with the Mission of Creighton University.
THE STAFF ADVISORY COUNCIL
SAC shall advise the President in matters affecting the general welfare and working conditions of all members of the staff. The Council shall serve as a channel for better communication between the staff and the administration.
REPRESENTATIVES
Elected by the staff in the appropriate Vice Presidential areas to serve a 3-year term.
MEETINGS
Held on the 2nd Thursday of each month and on call of the chair.
