NATIONAL DEFENSE SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING GRADUATE FELLOWSHIPS (Science, Math, Engineering)

Am I Eligible?

Students must be US citizens or nationals and  

  • be enrolled in their final year of undergraduate studies
  • have completed no more than the equivalent of one academic year of full-time graduate study as a part-time or full-time student

Students should be intending to pursue a doctoral degree in one of the areas of study of interest to the Department of Defense:

 

 

  • Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering
  • Biosciences
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Chemistry
  • Civil Engineering
  • Cognitive, Neural, and Behavioral Sciences
  • Computer and Computational Sciences
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Geosciences
  • Materials Science and Engineering
  • Mathematics
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering
  • Oceanography
  • Physics

What Will I Receive?

Fellows will have their tuition and fees paid and will receive a stipend of approximately $30,000 for each of the three years covered by the fellowship.

The application is available online only at the website.  The application is extensive and includes, in addition to demographic and personal info and academic record, statements regarding proposed discipline and area of specialization proposed graduate institution, GRE scores, transcripts, and reference forms.
