Sheila I. Field is Creighton Student Employee of the Year

Sheila Field has been named this year's Student Employee of the Year.  Congratulations to Sheila and the other 34 nominees.  Sheila works in the Creighton Department of Student Support Services.  She is a fourth year Nursing student, and graduates next month! 

 

 

Here are some quotes from her nomination form:

  • Sheila is at every weekend and evening event 30 minutes early to direct students regarding tasks that need to be completed with set up and registration. She stays late for clean up and breakdown. 
  • She created and analyzed surveys involving program evaluations, tutor evaluations, exit interviews, and activity forms.
  • She completed a 10 year report on SSS graduation rates, negotiates contracts, assists with audits.
  • Sheila developed a list serve to tell students about renting books to save money.  She contacts students weekly about housing, registration, summer preview and financial aid information.

 

Sheila will be honored at a luncheon with a University Vice President and will be given a gift certificate and plaque.  Her name will be added to the Wall of Distinction in the Skutt Student Center. 

 

 

Many thanks to all the supervisors who took the time and effort to craft nomination forms that made their students and their spirit come to life when reading them.  It is always a challenge to pick one student among so many deserving students.  Thanks to the team of readers, all experienced supervisors, who made the difficult selection.  It is gratifying to witness our Creighton undergraduate students developing excellent work ethics that will make them successful in their chosen careers.

 

And finally thanks to Sheila for embodying the traits in an employee that every supervisor dreams of having.
