Becky Nickerson, Assistant Director

Becky NickersonBecky is a native of Council Bluffs, Iowa and received her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from the University of Iowa. She received her Master's Degree in Counselor Education at Creighton where she was inducted into Alpha Sigma Nu, a Jesuit Honor Society.

After working for the Area Education Agency with at-risk students in the public school setting, Becky came to Creighton in 2004, and worked 4 1/2 years in the office of Health Sciences, Multicultural and Community Affairs. She received Creighton University's Rookie of the Year award in 2005. She moved to the Assistant Director position in the Office of Multicultural Affairs in November 2008.

At Creighton, Becky is a member of the Division of Student Life Staff Development Committee, Assessment Committee, the university's New Student Orientation Committee, and she is involved with the planning of the Committee on Status of Women Fall Forum.

As the Assistant Director for Retention and Leadership, Becky enjoys empowering students to find their niche while building up a network of support around them.
