Desiree R. Nownes, M.S.

Ms. Desiree R. Nownes

Senior Director of Community Standards and Wellbeing

Originally from Colorado, Ms. Nownes graduated from Regis University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology.  Ms. Nownes received her Master's of Science in Counseling in May 2008 at Creighton.  Ms. Nownes believes that fostering students' development begins in understanding where they are coming from and beginning that important dialogue.  The conversations with students are so crucial to not only listen, but hear what they are trying to convey. Understanding their point of view helps us further their learning and broadens ours.  The conduct process is built on the foundation that the process should be educational and helpful to the student's development.

Kaitlin Logan Wimmer, M.A.

Ms. Kaitlin Logan Wimmer

Assistant Director of Community Standards and Wellbeing

Kaitlin is a native Oklahoman with an undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Oklahoma State University.  She received her Master's of Arts from Ball State University in July 2013 in the field of Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education.  Kaitlin believes in an individual and educational approach to conduct, where the student's holistic development is kept as the center focus.  It is crucial to help the student through whatever experience they are actively working through.

Marie Geist, M.S.Ed.

Ms. Marie Geist

Assistant Director of Community Standards and Wellbeing

Marie joined Creighton's Office of Community Standards and Wellbeing in 2017. Originally from Nebraska, Marie attended the University of Nebraska - Lincoln, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She earned a Master's of Science in Education from the University of Kansas in Higher Education Administration. As the Assistant Director, Marie partners with students to address their behaviors holistically within the context of their own personal experiences and the larger university community. Marie's top five strengths are Input, WOO, Positivity, Communication, and Developer.

Susan R. Weston, R.N.

Ms. Susan Weston, R.N.

Assistant Director, Campus Outreach

Sue is a Registered Nurse who hails from Kearney, Nebraska.  She graduated from Nebraska Methodist School of Nursing in Omaha and has worked her entire career in Omaha.  She joined Creighton in 1996 where she worked as a Pediatric Infectious Disease Nurse.  The primary focus was vaccine research which helped fuel her interest in wellness.  She transitioned this interest in the Student Health Center.  Her ongoing interest in public health and wellness is a perfect fit for the Office of Community Standards and Wellbeing.  She is the advisor for PEAC (Peer Education At Creighton) and serves on many divisional and campus wide committees.

Listening to students, encouraging healthy lifestyles and supporting their accomplishments is what Cura Personalis is all about.  “When you take care of yourself, only then can you take care of others” is her credo.  As a long-time member of the Creighton community, she can help locate resources for students as issues arise. Katherine Cole, M.S.

Ms. Katherine Cole

Resident Director of Deglman Hall

Originally from Northeast Nebraska, Katherine attended the Creighton University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics as well as her Master’s of Science in Negotiation and Dispute Resolution. Ms. Cole serves as the Residential Life Collateral Staff for the Office of Community Standards and Wellbeing. As a partner of the Office of Community Standards and Wellbeing, Katherine works on branding initiatives to relay messages to our campus community. Katherine's top five strengths are Competition, Command, Achiever, Significance, and Ideation.
