Primary Prevention
The VIP Center focuses on primary prevention, the act of eliminating violence before it happens. Violence prevention is a complex issue and requires a multitude of strategies, as illustrated in the Spectrum of Prevention below (adapted from the Prevention Institute):

Violence Prevention Advisory Board
Creighton, in partnership with the Women's Center for Advancement and Alegent Creighton Health, have developed a violence prevention advisory board consisting of campus faculty, staff, students and community members. This advisory board meets on a monthly basis to discuss and develop a strategic plan around the prevention of power-based personal violence (partner violence, sexual assault, and stalking/harassment) on campus. Members of the coalition come from the following areas:
- Office of Equity and Inclusion
- Women's Center for Advancement Omaha
- Alegent Creighton Health
- The University's 9 colleges and schools
- The University's 9 Divisions
- Department of Public Safety
- Staff Advisory Council
- President's Office
- Jesuit Community
- Registered Student Organizations
