Fraternity and Sorority Life

Welcome to Fraternity and Sorority Life at Creighton University!

Since 1921, fraternity and sorority chapters have played an active role on campus and continue to provide a wealth of personal development opportunities for students. Our fraternity and sorority community is incredibly dynamic, with five fraternities and eight sororities. Over 40% of the undergraduate student population is involved in a fraternity or sorority; the national average is 10 to 12%. Fraternity and Sorority Life is a popular choice among students because of the opportunities for leadership, its focus on scholarship, personal and professional development,  and lifelong bonds made throughout their undergraduate experience.

Fraternities and sororities, much like Jesuit institutions, emphasize care of the individual, the ability to think critically, a commitment to serving the less fortunate, and developing future citizen leaders.  In this regard, Greek organizations can serve as a wonderful compliment to student learning at Creighton.

Please consider joining or participating in our community.  For sophomores, juniors, and seniors, recruitment takes place in both the fall and spring.  For freshman students, recruitment happens in January, right as the spring semester begins. Creighton believes is it important for students to acclimate to campus and know that they are first and foremost a Bluejay! In addition, fraternities and sororities want to know that their members can be successful in the classroom (by earning at least a 2.5 GPA) before taking on the time commitment of membership.
