Welcome Creighton Parents & Families

The Division of Student Life has partnered with the Director of Parent Programs from University Relations at Creighton University to provide parents and families with information and resources for their student's collegiate career. The following site is thus devoted to the Parents/Families of Creighton students.

Family Events on Campus

In addition to the numerous speakers and activities on campus, there are also two annual events on campus for family members of Creighton Students:

  • Homecoming Week September 15-21, 2014
  • Family Weekend (fall family visit weekend) September 19-21, 2014
  • Jaywalk (during Family Weekend) September 20, 2014
  • Lil Jays Weekend (spring siblings weekend) March 2015

Power of Parenting: Alcohol & College

Creighton University takes education of its new students seriously, especially around issues such as alcohol, illegal drug use, prescription drug abuse, and sexual violence.  The University has several resources for new students and families:

  • Power of Parenting Website - a site just for parents about alcohol and college
  • Think About It - an online, required course for all new, first-year students
  • Year1 CAP - an online, required, 10 minute survey designed to help inform new students about alcohol and college

Important Parent & Family Resources

CU AlertHave you heard about CU Alert?  CU Alert is part of Creighton's Crisis Plan to notify community members.  To enroll, please have your son or daughter list your contact information when they register.

ZipCarHave you heard about the Zipcars on campus? Give them the keys to our car! Keeping a car on campus is just one more hassle to worry about when you send your student off to college.  With Zipcar, they can have wheels when they want them without all the added costs of owning a car.

What exactly is Zipcar?  It is car sharing, an alternative to car ownership.  Zipcar handles all maintenance and they are constantly adding new cars to their fleet.  On campus, they are located in reserved, premium parking spaces that are easy to get to.

  • Zipcar is for students 18+
  • Rates start at just $8 an hour, $66 a day
  • Gas and insurance are included for free!
  • Students 21+ have access to fleet of over 7k+ Zipcars in the US, UK and Canada

Have your student sign up today and give them the greatest back-to-school gift ever:  freedom.  Click here for additional information.  ~ The Zipcar Team
