The Creighton Pathway

The Creighton Pathway

Beginning with the Class of 2015, Creighton University welcomes its new students in a procession across campus leading to the President's Academic Convocation. More than a thousand new students, wearing their Creighton blue "Game-Day" shirts to show their Bluejay pride, accompanied by academic and University leaders dressed in regalia, gather together and begin their journey down the pathway. The emblematic walk starts at the heart of campus, St. John's church, and follows the cobblestone walkway all the way down to the D.J. Sokol Arena. Along the way, current students, faculty and staff line the pathway and cheer for the new students. The procession concludes with the Academic Convocation, formally introducing and welcoming the newest class to Creighton University.

The Creighton Pathway is a significant event for this University, said former Creighton President Timothy R. Lannon, S.J. The Class of 2015 was the first to make this historic procession through campus as part of the new academic year. From now on, the Pathway will be an important tradition at Creighton.
